How to Raise a Creative Child. Step One: Back Off

There are some brilliant take aways in this article, things that make perfect sense to me.  I think that sometimes we tend to make things more complicated than they have to be because we can’t get our minds around the fact that something does not have to be complicated to be brilliant.  I think it was Jonny Ive or Steve Jobs that said “simple is definitely quite complicated” but thats not to say that simple should not be the goal.  The direct route is always the best and I think as a society we tend to think that theory does not hold water anymore.

Anyway enjoy the article.  Good Stuff there for sure!!  Adam Grant knows what the heck he is talking about for sure.

Child prodigies rarely become adult geniuses who change the world. Originality is difficult to encourage but easy to thwart.
